Two weeks of bliss!

Through a stroke of someone else's bad fortune, but my good fortune, I will be spending two whole (consecutive) weeks up at Lakeview Cottages with my mom managing the camp. I know...you're thinking, "Umm...they put her in charge of boats???" But really I'm quite good at it (if I do say so my self) and so far the only bad thing about the boats is that someone re-claimed their super cool kayak before I had a chance to test drive it. The first day here (Saturday) was spent reacquainting ourselves with the wonderful things we had missed in the three weeks since we were here last. Tyler found tree trunks to walk on...

We threw sticks into the lake...(please note the red kayak that I almost got to use)

We made S'Mores...(everyone knows the chocolate goes on the outside of the cracker and then you squish the marshmellow, right?)

Look for more updates on our adventures and also photographic evidence that Kim and I were canoe-ers...(is that a word?)...

A new look...

So, through my love of TBW, I was introduced to a super fun website...here is what I spent my free time doing today...It's not every day that a girl can get a facial, a tan, a boob job and a wardrobe makeover all in one day without spending a fortune

And of course, everyone wants to know what their kid will look like when they grow up so...

Here's Tyler accepting his Oscar...Doesn't he look happy/proud?

The site is called hairmixer.com and it's a riot! Just be careful that you don't end up spending too much time on there...

"Is that for boys?"

Even a two year old can tell a difference!
This weekend we were at Target and while I was checking out, my mom took Tyler to use the restroom. As they were getting ready to go into the women's room, Tyler looked at the sign on the door and said, "Gramma, is this on for boys?" When my mom told him that no, this was the girl's bathroom, he went straight over to the men's room, pushed the door open and got down to business. Now, it's great that my son is independent and confident in his "abilities"; however, there were other men in the men's room and that little detail prevented me from racing in after him. I stood at the door, pushed it open a crack with my toe and hollered for Ty. A Target employee came to the door and said, "Ummm...He's in the stall and he's already started." At this point I hear Tyler's little voice say, "MOM!! I did it!" I was still waiting outside the door and out walks another man who I swear is trying not to laugh (but I have to tell you, he was not trying hard enough!) and right after that Tyler came to the door with his pants and unders around his ankles and his shirt tucked up under his chin...The funniest thing in the world! I guess my little boy is growing up, but it's dang inconvenient as a mom who takes her son places alone a lot and cannot go into the men's room!

Father's Day in Morro Bay...

It was great to get away to Morro Bay to celebrate Father's Day with Tyler, Doug, Kim, Mom and Dad. We were able visit the "prestigious" Morro Bay Aquarium not one day, but TWO! Tyler loved getting to buy his own seal/sea lion food using his Potty Coupons (more on that later).

He did not seem to mind that this seal food was a little disgusting (seeing as it was cut up pieces of fish). Even though I did not find it to my liking, I soon became caught up in Tyler's excitement in trying to get the sea lion up on his shelf...

G-O-A-L!!!! And We DID IT!!!

Tyler had a blast with his Daddy too!

We also got to go to the park, Giovanni's for Lunch, and a few of the Morro Bay shops along the Embarcadero. Mostly though, it was a weekend for relaxation (I actually got to take a NAP for the first time in a really long time!) and family. Kim and I played on the springy park toys and rumor has it that Tyler and Doug went down to the beach while the rest of us bums slept in...

Did you know...?

That if your child/ren/cat/dog/whatever spills a large glass of milk in your kitchen, and the mess covers 25% or more of the floor area (you can just eyeball this) that wiping it up totally counts as "mopping"?
Happy Monday!

The start of something new...

This is the start of something new...a Blog! Only this time I'm determined that people will see it (hmm...funny how nobody ever saw my last blog...) In an effort to achieve this goal, I am going to...TELL people that I have a blog. I now have family and friends scattered across the country and I'm sure people are just dying to know what's going on in my life. So, check back often, but expect it to be the same a lot of the time.
